Treasure

Treasure.

What do you picture when you think of treasure? Pirates? Fancy jewelry? Gold and silver?

When I think about treasure I think of something that is special and maybe even one of a kind. Rare and valuable, but maybe not in the sense of money. Like time is a treasure especially as we get older. People are a treasure when you don't get to see them as often as you would like. It all depends on your perspective and the subject.

As a young child the days seemed to go on forever especially during the summer months. I didn't have more hours in the day, but I had less to occupy my mind. It seemed like longer days. Now that I plan so many things in a day, my days tend to fly by quickly. I am trying to be spend my resources wisely including my limited time.

Okay, back to treasure. God's Word tells us about treasure. You can find several passages touching on this particular subject. I am looking at 2 Corinthians chapter 4. Verse 7 says "Treasure is kept in clay jars. In the same way, we have the treasure of the good news in these earthly bodies of ours. That shows that the mighty power of the good news comes from God. It doesn't come from us."

Isn't it fascinating to think that our Creator has chosen to place the Light of the world in our broken vessels? It is astounding and humbling at the same time. We are the hope of the world in us as we go throughout our days.

No matter how chipped or broken your pot may be He is choosing to use you to share His love everywhere you go. You don't have to feel like you have got to get it all together before He can use you. Your broken pot is exactly what He plans to point people to Him.

Let's focus on His ways and allow Him to use us in our homes, our careers, our hobbies, our everything!  Spend some time getting to know Him each day, and you will be pleasantly surprised that He will meet you right where you are!

Blessings to you from another broken vessel!

Living for Him,

Lottie
