JOY

JOY...

Tis the season... Are you feeling the "joy of the season" or are you in a hurry to just get through the holidays? It seems more and more people are telling me that they just can't wait to get it over with. Makes you wonder if we possibly have misplaced the point of the whole thing, am I right?

Don't get me wrong. Occasionally I find myself standing in my kitchen covering my face and talking myself off the ledge so to speak. "It's okay. The dishes will get washed AGAIN. The laundry and bed and floors and cookies ...." You get the idea.

In all of these things we can easily become distracted by the chaos of life and miss out on the JOY of the season.

This is the time of the year when we can come together and focus on our Risen Savior. We can hang out with friends and family because we have days off. We can choose to refocus our attention for a little while to see the people God has placed around us. We can also be a light in a dark world that is needing to meet our Savior too!

When you find yourself feeling a little depleted and maybe even stressed about the perfect gifts, the guests that are coming over, the crowds at the stores, traffic - stop and pray and ask God to remind you. Remind you about what truly matters and how much He loves you. Ask Him to remind you what He wants you to do to be a blessing to those around you.

Joy - Exhilaration, excitement, anticipation

Luke 2:8-14 (HCSB)

The Shepherds and the Angels

"In the same region, shepherds were staying out in the fields and keeping watch at night over their flock. Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of David. This will be the sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in cloth and lying in a feeding trough. Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to people He favors!"

Merry Christmas to you and blessings for an amazing year!!! Keep looking up!!!
